In celebration of Saudi National Day, NASA International Schools proudly hosted the Watan Robot Championship: Discover Your Homeland, an innovative educational event that brought together technology, creativity, and national identity.
The championship was organized in collaboration with the Jeddah General Directorate of Education, represented by the Early Childhood Department, and in partnership with the Saudi Federation for Robotics & RC Sports, represented by AI Arena.
Through an engaging combination of robotics, coding, and 3D maps, students explored some of Saudi Arabia’s landmarks while developing their technological skills and discovering the Kingdom’s heritage in an interactive and inspiring way.
Connecting Innovation with National Identity

The Watan Robot Championship offered students a unique opportunity to experience Saudi heritage through the lens of technology. By incorporating robotics and coding into the exploration of national landmarks, the event demonstrated how innovation can create new and engaging ways for students to connect with their homeland.
The use of 3D maps further enhanced the experience, allowing students to explore Saudi landmarks while applying their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technological knowledge.
“When innovation meets national identity, learning becomes an experience that inspires students to explore, create, and connect with their homeland.”
Developing Future-Ready Skills Through Robotics
Robotics provides students with valuable opportunities to learn through experimentation, collaboration, and problem-solving. Through the championship, students engaged with technology in a practical environment that encouraged them to think creatively and develop solutions.
The event also highlighted the role of coding and robotics in preparing students for a rapidly evolving technological world. By giving students opportunities to apply their knowledge in an interactive setting, NASA International Schools continues to support the development of future-ready skills beyond traditional classroom learning.
Exploring Saudi Landmarks Through 3D Maps

One of the distinctive elements of the championship was the use of 3D maps to explore Saudi landmarks. This approach transformed the exploration of the Kingdom’s geography and heritage into an interactive technological experience.
Students were able to combine their understanding of technology with their appreciation of Saudi Arabia’s landmarks, creating a meaningful connection between learning, innovation, and national culture.
The experience encouraged students to look at their homeland from a new perspective—one where technology can be used to discover, understand, and celebrate national heritage.
Strengthening Collaboration in Education and Technology
The Watan Robot Championship also reflects the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, government education departments, and specialized organizations in supporting innovative learning experiences for students.
Through its collaboration with the Jeddah General Directorate of Education – Early Childhood Department and partnership with the Saudi Federation for Robotics & RC Sports, represented by AI Arena, NASA International Schools continues to create opportunities that bring education and technology together in meaningful ways.
